The Role: The Marketing Manager, reporting to Senior Brand Manager, is responsible for planning and organizes all marketing and CRM activities to ensure overall brand & marketing objectives are achieved. Manages Japan local marketing, public relations, trade marketing and visual merchandising functions.
In this role you will:
Online
Centralize and own the online user journey from awareness channels / demand generation to first time page visits to engagement and conversion.
Drive e-commerce sales through innovative, effective and cost efficient marketing strategies
Define and execute search engine optimization, viral / social media marketing, display / pay per click marketing leveraging DMPs and affiliate marketing (e.g. through affiliate programs such as TaoBaoKe and new initiatives) together with the Senior Brand Manager.
Retail
Develop retail marketing strategies aligned with the brand strategy.
Act as the key liaison between sales, product managers and buyers.
Cultivate programs (including visibility & merchandising programs) that ensure products sell in-store.
Brand Management
Brand Management - Plan and execute ATL and BTL activities
Overall brand development - Ensuring the brand generating long term growth for the company
Optimise and secure long term value of the brands (measure using consumer awareness, consumer preference, image/reputation, profit and market share)
Identify new opportunities that can influence brand growth
Increase overall profitability via effective commercial/ channel mix strategy.
Drive market share and maintain brand equity
General Management
Report on channel / initiatives results to stakeholders and senior management.
Work closely with eCommerce (OSO) team members, marketing team and agencies
Key Qualifications
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:
6-8 years of relevant experience in Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, and e-commerce experience in Japan Market.
Extensive experience with and deep understanding of mainly Amazon Japan and Rakuten ecosystems, solutions and teams.
Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels
Personal outlook: Entrepreneurial, ‘can do’ attitude
Strong time management skills with attention to details
Good project management experience with proven result
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to think creatively and innovatively
Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
Ability to leverage resources in the organization
Ability to handle complex and matrix relationship and decision process
Native Japanese and fluent English writing and speaking skills (Chinese is a plus);
Team management experience
Budget-management skills and proficiency
Must be comfortable with tobacco or tobacco related products
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
