Objective of the Job
As China is the largest and fastest growing market for passenger cars, we are currently looking for an experienced expert who shares the same passion and ethusiam for leading our China specific Voice Assistant development as a whole product development. Located in Beijing (Wangjing area) our Voice Assistant development team is fully responsible and leading the product ideation and design as well as the development of the China Voice Assistant as part of the MBUX incar product. It aims to provide best-in-class and best market fitting voice interaction to Chinese customers that also plays a leading role in regard to our competitors in China.
As the manager of the team you are responsible for managing the team consisting of product desigers, technical solution architects, backend developers and product owners for functional development teams (which are located at our development partners). Aligned with the global strategy (which contains already the china footprint) and considering the requirements from major internal departments you are hosting the overall Product portfolio and a development roadmap for the Voice Assistant.
Task Description
Leading a team of product designers, software developers and product owner being responsible for the product development of the china specific Voice Assistant and all related development, ensuring the best product for our customers. Lead, motivate and develop allocated employees by target agreements and performance evaluations on the basis of the mission statement. Ensure target-oriented internal communication and task related qualification. Ensure the achievement of agreed targets.
Owner of the product strategy for the Voice Assistant considering onboard and offboard parts as well as collaborations with best local technology partners. Hosting the processes for product development as well as architecture decisions and align with relevant stakeholders outside the team (e.g. Voice Assistant responsibles and architects in HQ, stakeholders in our china organization). Responsible to ensure continuous, state-of-the art software development and delivering high quality software releases.
Responsible for the project management (especially considering time, scope, quality, resource and qualification management) for all development activities in order to provide a full picture to the team and to stakeholders and to keep track on the planned deliveries for multiple parallel running projects. Align with different mother projects and handle deviations accordingly by defining counter measures. Provide transparency about the progress and status of all development areas to key stakeholders.
Scan and identify relevant software technologies, technological trends and development partners in order to evaluate innovation ideas by conducting proof of concepts and prototypes. Bring in and integrate innovation ideas into the early phases of new product projects and into the innovation and ideation stream for series development.
Collaborate closely with overall UX/UI team for MBUX and mobile products as well as with function owners to integrate voice interaction as major part of the overall digital product experience and to integrated developed deliverables into projects and support end-to-end maturity as well as provide technical feedback in discussions on future products and platforms
