Automation Change Management Engineer


Job Description

An BEMCT Automation Change Management Engineer is responsible for providing quality system setup and configuration changes, system and process expertise, and timely support of system changes for the Backend Manufacturing operations. Responsibilities involve collaboration with other MCT teams, global and local IS teams, global process and equipment engineering, R&D teams, process integration, quality teams, production, and planning to optimize manufacturing processes and systems. The position will be highly oriented in support of the Micron Backend Automation Program and sustainment thereafter. Therefore, requires proficiency in team leadership, project participation, data analysis, and problem-solving to drive issue resolution, product and process control, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment of systems and processes. The position is open to all E3 to M2 level candidates. This position will be based in Singapore or in Taiwan (MTB). It also has the potential to grow into a leadership role as the team in Asia grows.


Responsibilities and Tasks


Manage system setup and system configuration changes

  • Assist in the setup of control systems to ensure accurate, repeatable, and standardized manufacturing processes via automation. Critical control systems include (but are not limited to):
    • Host Automation – Foundational to automation and advanced data collection
    • MAM – Material tracking
    • ET – Equipment tracking
    • RMS – Recipe Management System
    • Sigma – Critical to data gathering and analysis
    • MESController – new to the Backend
  • Assist in the setup and maintain systems to facilitate area data collection and process control requirements.
  • Create process steps, operations, and flows in compliance with established standards to achieve consistent and automatable process flows.
  • Team with IT and others to minimize risk, maximize area efficiency, and ensure product quality through proper system change control and validation.
  • Ensure timely, coordinated, and approved system configuration change management including documentation and notification to all stakeholders.


Provide system expertise and support for manufacturing systems, processes, and capabilities

  • Leverage knowledge, experience, and skills with processes and systems to provide timely solutions for problems and business change requirements.
  • Understand and routinely use system capabilities to collect, investigate, and support accurate reporting, data analysis, and metric tracking.


Facilitate manufacturing systems release and deployment

  • Properly manage and effectively implement applications/systems, along with ensuring processes and procedures are properly tested, communicated, and deployed.
  • Manage BSCM cases (queues) for application/software releases as required to effectively release new applications or system functionality with minimal impact or risk to manufacturing areas.


Maintain effective and efficient contributions to team efforts

  • Identify and solve issues concerning data and change management to continually improve data and operational efficiency and quality.
  • Manage individual work appropriately to provide help with team projects and deliverables.
  • Work to produce a culture of quality awareness including risk management, problem solving, and data-driven decisions.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to systemically reduce risks and prevent potential issues.
  • Initiate and Participate in World Wide/Peer collaboration for efficiency and standards/BKM adherence.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team as well as mentor and train others on essential job and business skills.
  • Comply with Company/Department Policies and Group expectations.
  • Understand and support Performance Management Systems: Success Factors and IPP Goals.

Education Required


Bachelor’s Degree preferred in one of the following:

  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Data Sciences
  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • Engineering - Electrical
  • Engineering - Electronics
  • Manufacturing
  • Related field of study

Qualifications


  • An understanding and working knowledge of at least one of the key Change Management Systems: Sigma, MAM, RMS, ET, MES, or Host automation
  • Basic knowledge of creating and maintaining MES/MAM configuration for processes, steps, operations, data collection and Attributes.
  • Experience in working with various MAM and MES tracking, reporting, splitting, merge, and combo functions.
  • Basic understanding of the assembly process and/or test processes.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to get production-needed processes released.
  • Willingness to support 24/7 coverage.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support Asian sites and program deliverables
  • The ability to be a proactive problem solver that communicates openly; take the initiative to assume added responsibilities.
  • A high level of self-motivation.
  • Good team work and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • The ability to troubleshoot problems and address root causes.
  • The ability to be team oriented with a strong focus on effective team dynamics.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge in one or several of the following areas is a plus: client/server and/or Web development, C#, Visual Basic (.NET), MSSQL, Perl, XML, HTML, Windows, Linux and Unix.
