Our production network consists of MINI Plant Oxford, MINI Plant Swindon and BMW Plant Hams Hall. Plant Oxford
is one of the most modern and technically advanced car plants in the world and is the heart of MINI – while Plant Swindon
is where MINI panels are pressed. BMW Plant Hams Hall manufactures small fuel efficient, low emission engines for
BMW and MINI vehicles.

Assembly Planning
We are currently recruiting a student to join our Assembly Planning department at the MINI Plant in Oxford. If you have an
inquisitive mind, a passion for processes and production, a thirst for knowledge about car assembly and if you would like
the opportunity to work in a highly complex production facility, then this could be the internship for you.
What will you be doing?
- All aspects of assembly planning and special tool planning as well as assembly structure and equipment planning at MINI
Plant Oxford.
- You will be part of the team that works on new vehicle launches, supervises
the vehicle series production and its optimization, as well as running changes.
- The Assembly Planning team sets-up the relevant processes, plan the necessary tooling and creates the required
process documentation.
- You will be working alongside our planners and assist them with the preparation, coordination and implementation of
projects as well as support shutdown operations.
- You will be responsible for the analysis and evaluation of important production and business data.
- Studying towards a relevant Engineering degree (Technical, Mechanical or similar)
- Good analytical skills, flexibility to work on various topics at one time and support operational implementations when
required is necessary.
- Some prior knowledge of planning/processes and industry experience would be advantageous; more important is
the ability to learn quickly and to bring original ideas on process improvement opportunities to the team and into the
business.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of all standard Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
and Powerpoint, some knowledge/exposure to SAP would also be beneficial.
- Good English, Communication and interpersonal skills are also expected with an ability to summarise topics and present
clearly
