MINI Plant Oxford - Geometric Validation -13 Month Internship (July 2022)

Job Description

The System Integration Interior department is responsible for the geometric and functional integration during the development phase up until 3 months after Start Of Production. This includes the Pruefcube process; which validates pre-series products in the early phase - to support the maturaty of components and processes towards the product launch (SOP). Within the team, our metrology specialists support complex analysis topics across the complete vehicle with their extensive measurement capabilities. Finally, we are also responsible for tolerance management in the plant.

Tasks will include:

  • Supporting the pre-work, daily activities, documenting and reporting of the Pruefcube process results/output during the pre-series development of a new product.
  • Supporting analysis and measurement activities with the Team.
  • Contribute to the development of VR within Plant Oxford and the BMW network.


In addition,as part of the System Integration Interior team you will assist in identifying problems during the assembly of Pre-Series vehicles and Series vehicles, conducting initial analysis into these problems, supporting the development of technical solutions whilst finally validating the effectiveness of these solutions virtually and with hardware.

 

  • Be working towards a relevant degree ideally with significant Business and Engineering content
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good communications skills
  • Mechanical engineering experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • CAD knowledge would be useful
