Launch Coordination Intern
The Launch Coordination department is responsible for the coordination and steering of new product/derivative launches in plant Oxford. The department is divided into five key areas.
- Project steering – Administration and project management of new vehicle launches into Oxford.
- Launch Steering – Validation planning of new content.
- IPT (Integration Parts Process) – Management and steering of new components.
- SIT (Systems Integrations Team) - Management and steering of new electronically diagnosable components.
- Technology Steering – Management of the TU-O-5 budget and head count.
What are you responsible for?
- Supporting the organisation and running of key meetings within the project management structure on a weekly basis
- Shadowing and supporting the departmental functions – Project Management, Launch Steering, Parts integration, Software Integration and Technology Steering.
- Supporting the processing of new change content from the central BMW technologies (incl. Networking with German colleagues)
- Administrative support of the Integrated parts process (IPT) linking key information between systems.
- Involvement on the management of the Departmental vehicle fleet including maintenance activities.
- Supporting the activities of launch steering with regard to TUV audits.
- Administrative support of the technology steering role (Budget, finance and target management)
- Leading departmental housekeeping activities (5S process)
- Maintaining a flexible work methodology to allow additional tasks to be undertaken on demand.
Qualifications:
- Studying towards an Engineering or Business related degree
- Good communication (e.g. written and oral communication)
- Responsibility (e.g. reliable, conscientious, self-disciplined)
- Team work (cooperative, supportive, engaged)
- Self-motivated (able to progress without close supervision)
- Must have a UK Driving Licence
