Painted Body Steering Graduate Scheme
We are seeking a self-motivated graduate looking to take the next step in their career within the Painted Body Steering team at BMW Plant Oxford, commencing September 2022. The Painted Body Steering department is a key supporting function for the wider Painted body organisation in the achievement of various targets such as volume, cost and headcount. To do so we work closely alongside the Production Teams, HR, Programme Planning and Finance. Working in Production Steering is a perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in production processes but also wants to understand the wider picture of how a manufacturing plant works. Our graduate programme will offer the opportunity to work with a wide range of people, across many departments within the organisation and the senior management team.
What will you be doing?
- Gaining in-depth understanding of production systems, volume planning, finance controlling, manpower planning & Industrial Engineering across the Painted Body process chain.
- Leading and taking part in multiple projects within Plants Oxford & Swindon.
- Networking and building relationships within the wider BMW Group.
- Communicating with other departments to support Painted Body Steering.
- Developing and improving internal processes, including the use of digitalisation BI.
- Monitoring and reporting internal KPI’s.
- Working between both Plant Oxford and Plant Swindon.
- Studying towards or have attained a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar Engineering field at a 2.2 or above.
- A keen interest in working in the automotive industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools.
- Problem-solving skills in an analytical, innovative manner.
- Capable of prioritising and organising tasks independently.
- Able to thrive within a dynamic and high performing team.
- A full UK driving license would be beneficial.
