The Production Steering department is a key supporting function for the wider Painted body organisation in the achievement of various targets such as volume, cost and headcount. To do so we work closely alongside the Production Teams, HR, Programme Planning and Finance. Working in Production Steering is a perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in production processes but also wants to understand the wider picture of how a manufacturing plant works.
- To support the roll out of a new headcount steering system, which involves understanding the software, building relationship with the manufacturing teams to assist with training and support, plus demonstrating the benefits in their daily job.
- To support digitalisation in Painted Body. In the past year, we have rolled out some BI tools across the plant and are in the process of digitalising the majority of our reports. The aim is to make data from multiple sources available in a clear, concise and informative way to all levels of the business to assist them to make correct business decisions. The project is to identify further opportunities for digitalisation, liaising with business partners, sourcing data and building new dashboards ensuring that they will be useful and reliable for the target audience.
The internship will be suited to people studying Manufacturing/Process Engineering with good statistical and IT knowledge.
- A successful applicant will be able to communicate and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the business, management and manufacturing.
- The applicant will be self-motivated, able to work both in a team and alone to specific deadlines.
- The applicant will need to be flexible and capable of adapting to change.
- A positive attitude to learning and developing is a must.
- Ideally the applicant will have a full driving licence.
