Linguistic Services Manager

Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary
 

About the role: 

In this your you will be part of a team that is fully dedicated to interesting global client. You will work together with your colleagues and the production teams around the world, to apply, define and implement new and current language quality management processes in order to ensure our deliverables are in line with the client’s expectations. You will also support and communicate with translators working with endangered languages around the world. 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement a quality strategy for each Machine Learning task, including a QA workflow and tracking quality KPIs where relevant
  • Acts as an SME for Machine Learning services, develop new opportunities and monitor industry trends

  • Research background for new Machine Learning tasks, drafts resource profiles, testing, and training strategies, and reference materials for ML tasks
  • Set up quality improvement plans for struggling vendors
  • Report to the client on quality delivered and on action plans to improve problem areas. Resolve client questions and escalations about quality delivered.
  • Identify needs for automation and other help from tech teams tasks, drafts resource profiles, testing, and training strategies, and reference materials for ML tasks

Requirements:

  • Proficient written and spoken English (C1 level necessary)
  • Experience with creating training materials (especially e-learning)
  • Experience with giving trainings (in person, on-call, in English for non-native speakers of English)
  • Independent, proactive, comfortable with making decisions on their own
  • Comfortable with multitasking / changing focus and priorities in short notice, good in stress management
  • Good at vendor communication and providing comprehensible feedback

 

Nice to have: 

 

  • Experience with setting up quality processes in data labeling, machine learning, and similar processes, not necessarily linguistic quality processes
  • Advanced computer skills, e.g. spreadsheets, presentations, audio/video- or photo-editing programs, e-learning platforms
  • Education or coaching degree or relevant experience
  • Experience with leading teams (including freelancers or during free-time activities) 
  • Experience in dealing with external vendors and/or clients in difficult situations
  • Working knowledge of other languages is a plus (esp. Japanese, Hindi, Spanish, German, French)
