Job Overview:
The MPS (Mercedes-Benz production system) Department is the leading know-how carrier for lean management, process standardization and continuous improvement. We facilitate workshops, deliver trainings and build low-cost systems to support the production and planning staff in our facility
Responsibilities:
- Improvement of production, planning, and administration processes by using lean management improvement methodologies
- Identification of improvement potential in production and logistics planning to create efficiency measures
- Supporting the preparation, execution and follow-up of interdisciplinary workshops
- Independent planning, execution and documentation of subtasks within the projects
- Creation of PowerPoint presentations functioning as a decision-making tool for the management team
- Communication with production staff and additional supportive tasks
- Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Business or Engineering related field
- Knowledge in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Structured thinking and quick comprehension
- Flexibility and high level of commitment is required
- All candidates should be available for a 6 months full time internship

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will
provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
