Job Description
Siemens Healthineers partners with Campus Biotech and the Center of Biomedical Imaging in Geneva to break new ground in MR imaging!! Do you want to help create the future of healthcare? Our name, Siemens Healthineers, was selected to honor our people who dedicate their energy and passion to this cause. It reflects their pioneering spirit combined with our long history of engineering in the ever-evolving healthcare industry. We offer you a flexible and dynamic environment with opportunities to go beyond your comfort zone in order to grow personally and professionally. We work together with our partners, the Campus Biotech and the Center of Biomedical Imaging (CIBM) to advance the field of MR imaging in a unique setting in Geneva. Campus Biotech is a Swiss center of excellence in biotechnology and life sciences research. It functions like a giant incubator and focuses on pure science and its translation into real solutions and practical outcomes that have an impact on society and the world. In a team of CIBM MRI researchers, you will explore the new possibilities of the 7T Terra and 3T Prisma systems installed side-by-side, being fully embedded in the activities of the vibrant research community at the Campus Biotech – bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and industry. Sound interesting? Then come and join our global team as Onsite Scientist to shape the future of MR imaging! Your tasks and responsibilities: You will work at a vibrant scientific campus in a unique setting together with a team of MR scientists, supported by the Siemens Healthineers pre-development group in Lausanne as well as the MR headquarters in Germany. You will develop new MRI methods and provide both research and technical instrumentation support for the MRI systems. You will evaluate prototype equipment, and help explore, expand, and realize the potential of the 7T system and new MR imaging methods for the whole body – with a focus on brain imaging. You will help foster clinical translation by transferring the developed techniques into clinical studies and the Healthineers product funnel. You will interact intensively with clinical and research partners locally, nation-wide and beyond. Your qualifications and experience: You hold a degree in (bio-)medical imaging, engineering, physics or programming (the latter with a focus on imaging). You gained long-standing experience with medical imaging, ideally proven by a PhD in the field. You have a good understanding of MR physics and have profound experience in MR sequence programming (ideally on Siemens Healthineers platforms). You have additional knowledge of image reconstruction methods and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques in theory and practice. Your attributes and skills: You are excited about the possibility to work in an international, scientific environment to drive translational MRI developments. You like bringing your methodological developments into practice and to apply them in the “real world”. You like to interact with different people, and you are motivated by being able to bridge the gap between research and industry. You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and orally; French is a plus. You have proven C++ programming skills, as well as Python (and/or Matlab). Based on your experience, you have a proven capability to drive research and/or development projects on your own. Our global team: Siemens Healthineers is a leading global medical technology company. 65,000 dedicated colleagues in over 70 countries are driven to shape the future of healthcare. An estimated 5 million patients across the globe benefit every day from our innovative technologies and services in the areas of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, laboratory diagnostics and molecular medicine, as well as digital health and enterprise services. Our culture: Our culture embraces different perspectives, open debate, and the will to challenge convention. Change is a constant aspect of our work. We aspire to lead the change in our industry rather than just react to it. That’s why we invite you to take on new challenges, test your ideas, and celebrate success.
