DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The indirect materials & services buyer/supervisor is responsible for an annual spend in excess of USD $50m in the Asia region.
Key responsibilities include: Manage regional/global spend activities in the indirect categories, i.e. materials, services, energy, transportation & packaging. Serve as a leader for multiple purchasing projects with limited daily direction. Lead key vendor/supplier negotiations. Source and evaluate potential suppliers. Actively participate in assigned project teams and partner with business unit team for the development and execution of indirect commodity strategies. Manage supply base and supplier relationships on a local, regional, and global level. Build out processes and systems to support better spend visibility & process compliance. Develop strategies for the Powertrain to maximize benefits for Federal-Mogul.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including relationship development Successful negotiation and contract execution experiences MS Excel proficiency, having worked with Pivot Table's, V-Lookup's and Macro's Preferred
  • Ability to communicate strategies and solutions to colleagues and internal customers in order to achieve financial goals.
  • Research materials and suppliers utilising expertise related to the commodities supported.
  • Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings and/ or negotiations.
  • Prepare and send RFQ/RFPs for commodity projects.
  • Maintain consistent communication with suppliers to ensure RFQ/RFP timelines are met and act as an interface between suppliers and engineering/operations/marketing to answer any questions related to RFQ/RFP documents.
  • Perform financial analysis of RFQ/RFP results to determine overall cost competitiveness and make sourcing recommendations based upon RFI and RFQ/RFP results.
  • Negotiate contracts based on country, region regulations
  • Logistic and incoterms knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain and/or Logistics or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing with a preference towards indirect materials, services, energy, transportation & packaging - indirect in high volume manufacturing related industries.
  • Manufacturing experience preferably in a production control, logistics, or material planning function.
  • Demonstrated background and proven experience with RFQ/RFP processes, data analysis, supplier evaluation and commodity support.
  • Excellent level of English both written & spoken.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Global purchasing experiences are preferred.
