Job Purpose

? Deliver & execute the assigned project / work package on time with good quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

? Ensure technical deliverables matches project / work package requirements. Save engineering cost for GEC team through application & technical expertise.

? Under general supervision the Application Engineering Specialist provides all analysis, coordination and control for the processing of engineered Medium Voltage (2400V – 15kV) Motor Control Center and Variable Frequency Drive orders. This includes analyzing order specifications, drawings, terms and conditions, resolving and documenting exceptions and questions, instructing and coordinating mechanical and electrical drafting work, generating bills of material, purchasing special equipment, coordinating activities during manufacturing, assembly, testing, making changes and revisions and managing the commercial aspects of the order.

Key Responsibilities

Do

? Design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and/or prepare study and analyze existing systems. Determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

? Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system.

? Co-ordinate & Complete Project task based on work assignment.

? Deliver & execute the assigned projects / work package on time with quality / cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

? Keep improving self-engineering capabilities and exchange best practice with other team members / team lead to improve team’s capabilities.

? Support Lead Engineer / Sr.Project Engineers / Project Engineers on technical issues.

? Ensure project implementation follows the engineering delivery standard with quality requirement.

? Maximize reusable standard product and engineering in project delivery.

? Technical implementation in whole life-cycle of project / work package delivery.

? Work with Team Leader to manage technical risk in project / work package execution.

? Work with Team Leader to clarify technical issues.

? Coach and develop Project Engineers.

? Cost reduction through process & manufacturing improvement, and through development of reusable engineering or engineering standard.

? Work closely with Sr. Project Engineers / Project Engineers, Lead Engineers to achieve customer acceptance. Demonstrate application & technical expertise to achieve repeat order and retain customer satisfaction.

Oversee

? Ensure 100% meet technical items defined in project / work package.

? Ensure project implementation follows the procedure of RA Engineering standards.

? Maximize reusable standard product and engineering in project / work package delivery.

? Support Execution Manager in managing team performance, develop self and team capability and motivate the team.

? Lead and coach Project Engineers / Sr. - Project Engineers in team to comply with business procedures.

Job Related Competencies

? High level of expertise in Integrated Architecture, Standard Drives, Intelligent Motor Control, Safety Product, Industrial Control Component, Networks, SSB Solutions, and a good understanding of Motion Control, Low / Medium Voltage Drive Products/Systems.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE

? Bachelors in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control Automation/Power Electronics Engineering with 05 to 10 years of relevant experience in Low / Medium Voltage Drive Products/Systems, Switchgears.

? Perform technical review of customer specifications/drawings, Rockwell quotations and customer purchase orders.

? Modify/Create Bills of Materials and project drawings (electrical/dimensional) for assigned projects, ensuring all customer specifications are met in the scheduled time period.

? Create specifications for custom 3rd party equipment

? Assist or complete coordination studies, thermal evaluations, harmonic analysis, and other engineering studies as required.

? Excellent organization and communication skills are a must, as you will be interfacing with a wide range of clients, both internal and external (Customers, Sales, Distributors, PM’s, Marketing, Drafting and Manufacturing) to ensure each project progresses smoothly, without; affecting the projects original schedule.

? Must express a high level of detail and accountability of completed work.

? Complete knowledge on EPLAN / EACAD / ACAD / CEW’s, Creo software’s.

? Must be aware of electrical design standards and IEC codes.

? Should have gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning.

? Should have exposure to different industry applications & engineering procurement & construction (EPC).

• Travel – 05 to 10 %

Actual travel will vary based on business and work package requirement.
