With offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, American Education Advisors is recruiting several MYP Coordinators for our IB partner schools in Fuzhou and across China. Classes are conducted in English and start late August. APPLY TODAY!
JOB DESCRIPTION
-- The MYP Coordinator is the key leadership role in the MYP programme. Along with other school leaders, the MYP Coordinator is responsible for implementing and developing the programme to meet IB MYP principles and practices.
-- Serves as part of the pedagogical leadership team responsible for supporting curriculum and learning (Grades 6-10).
-- Fulfills the administrative tasks of the MYP, such as curriculum documentation and internal/external assessments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage detailed understanding of the IB Middle Years Programme and how it operates
- Inspire and motivate young people during a challenging, but rewarding period of their lives
- Allocates MYP resources and establishes priorities
- Provides orientation and training to new teachers
- Assesses professional development needs
- Offers support to individual teachers
- Plans for the personal/community project and allocates supervisors
- Utilizes top-notch written and verbal communication skills
- Employs exceptional organizational and administrative skills
- Diligent, hardworking, and prepared to lead by example
- Flexible, creative, and adaptable
SALARY
- 25,000 – 30,000 Chinese Yuan per month (i.e., $42,000 – $50,000 per year)
- summer holiday (2 months)
- $500 monthly cost of living due to free housing and other benefits

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time MYP teaching experience
- Strong organizational abilities and initiative
- Experience with curriculum development and documentation within the MYP
- Teachers over 60 are not eligible due to China's work visa policies
- Ability to speak Chinese is NOT required
