Position: Academic Foreign Principal (MYP & DP)
Location :Changzhou, Jiangsu Province
Joining Date: Sep. to Oct 2021

Overview:

The MYP/DP academic foreign principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school.

Achieving academic excellence requires that the academic foreign principal work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members in MYP and DP on Academic matters. If necessary, the academic foreign principal also needs to communicate effectively with parents. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, emergency procedures, and facility operations.


Main Responsibilities:
■ To assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day management on Academic matters
■ To be responsible for the annual evaluation of academic staff reporting to him/her as line manager
■ To foster an on-going culture of professional development of staff and contribute personally towards this end where possible.
■ To seek to deliver the curriculum at all stages employing the best of international pedagogy.
■ To develop a system of student representation allowing for regular dialogue and the development of leadership skills.
■ To recognize the multi-cultural nature of the student body and the School’s Chinese setting and utilize both to promote internationalism as an important part of the School’s mission.
■ To determine and develop key skills within students which will equip them for success at future stages of their education and in life.
■ To ensure that the requirements for students and staff learning are met.
■ To assume overall responsibility for the administration of all external examinations taking place within the School.
■ To be responsible for the annual evaluation of all teaching staff and play a key role in their recruitment.
■ To ensure effective communication which includes appropriate involvement of staff in decision-making.
■ To ensure that the health and safety requirements of all students and staff are met.
■ To support the establishment of a rich co-curricular programme and a supportive pastoral system.
■ To endeavor to build close links with the community which the school serves, encouraging parental involvement where appropriate.
■ To assist teachers in matching appropriate assessment instruments to curriculum objectives.
■ To prepare the annual report on the state of the curriculum.
■ To assure uniformity in assessment, parent reporting, and academic standards.
■ To help departments to resolve conflicts.
■ To help departments to develop standards appropriate for the school.
■ To review all proposed changes to the curriculum and providing updates on a yearly basis.
■ To chair academic curriculum committee meetings.
■ To serve as a resource for faculty, recommending workshops, speakers, programs, school observations, etc.
■ To coordinate regular textbook reviews with departments on a regularly scheduled basis.
■ To conduct workshops for faculty to keep faculty informed of current trends/research in curriculum and instruction.
■ To make recommendations to the Head regarding problems or concerns relating to curriculum.
■ To network with curriculum directors at other independent schools.
■ To establish and maintain curriculum resources for staff.
■ To review the level of homework and student projects.
■ To review academic balance throughout.
■ To oversee school -wide testing.
■ To perform other duties as assigned by the head of school.


Qualifications:
1. education, psychology, pedagogy and other related majors, mater degree or above.
2. More than 5 years of academic principal experience and research experience, more than 2 years of curriculum development experience and official communication experience with IB
3. Received IB training and certificate
4. Familiar with the development trend of the international curriculum field at home and abroad, with a sharp mind and a strong sense of innovation;
5. Fluent English communication skills; with a sense of teamwork.

Salary :
40000-60000RMB per month
plus other perks.
