Job Description

SigOpt is an AI experimentation platform that Fortune 100 companies, AI labs, and developers of all stripes use to track training runs, automate hyperparameter optimization, scale jobs and collaborate on model development. This is a chance to contribute to a key tool in the AI/ML development workflow in a startup-like community within the secure environment of Intel. You will be part of a small team working on everything from machine learning to user engagement.

We need the ML Engineer Intern to push the boundaries on what is possible in AI. Responsibilities include but are not limited to building machine learning solutions, which provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive models based on data. ML Engineer Interns use or develop machine learning algorithms, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, Bayesian analysis and others, to solve applied problems in various disciplines such as Data Analytics, Computer Vision, Robotics, etc. They interact with users to understand what resonates with the ML developer community. They will also utilize current programming methodologies to translate machine learning models and data processing methods into software. ML Engineer Interns will also complete programming, testing, debugging, documentation and/or deployment of their solutions.

  • Highly independent and passionate to work on a variety of machine learning applications.
  • Clearly communicate technical details and concepts.
  • Innovative thinkers who are highly interested in predictive modeling, deep learning, machine learning, data mining, and other data analysis techniques.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualification:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a Masters degree or PhD degree; in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field
  • 6+ months experience in Python
  • Availability for a 3-month internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Research publications or patents in Machine Learning
  • Availability for a 6-12month internship
  • 2+ years of development with Python

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
