The Wireless Systems Group in the Wireless Communications Business Unit is responsible for developing new technology and applications of artificial intelligence for wireless infrastructure communications. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to solve problems at the intersection of wireless communications and RF systems with focus on AI/ML Intelligent Edge Opportunities including but not limited to RF Signal Chain Enhancement, Radio Access Network Optimization and Automation, Automated Signal Classification.

As a member of a Wireless Systems Group (WSG), you will have opportunities to work alongside industry experts and the various product teams inside the wireless organization.  You will be involved with many aspects of the system development process, including, planning, sourcing, debugging/test, and documentation of both the algorithm validation platform and the algorithm development. Close interaction with algorithm developers, system architects, application and marketing engineers is expected. You will be the person that brings the theoretical algorithm development to a real-world implementation. The role will include collaboration with product teams at other ADI sites and possibly also with customers, either of which may require occasional travel.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

• Work towards ensuring Analog Devices’ RadioVerse products conform and go beyond key performance indicators

• Develop processes and platforms that comprehensive evaluate, support and validate the algorithmic development and expose the risks in advance of silicon implementation

• Assess wireless system-level aspects of algorithms and analyze performance metrics leading to new product requirements

• Prompt optimizations in both the DPD algorithm and the PA characterization process. It is your role to improve and enhance.

• To help and support the ADI customer engagement by helping the PA evaluations with our new and innovative DPD algorithms

• Research, design, develop, and test new applications of artificial intelligence for wireless

 

Qualifications  

 

Candidate Credentials  

 

BS/MS/PhD or Dipl.-Ing/Dr.-Ing in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience including some or all the following aspects:  

 

• RF and microwave components, systems and measurements

• Laboratory automation 

• Detailed knowledge of MATLAB   

• Knowledge of DFE functions, particularly DPD

• Strong background in signal processing and communication systems  

• Numerical and non-numerical algorithms 

• Experiences with machine learning and deep neural network fundamentals and tools (TensorFlow/PyTorch)

• DSP programming

• Digital system design, HDL, FPGA, ASIC

• Understanding of LTE/NR downlink signals.

• LTE/NR PHY algorithms and link-level simulation 

 

Strong communication skills are essential. An enquiring and flexible attitude to work and learning, enthusiasm, dedication and strong goal-solution orientation are valued as much as any particular skill.
