Machine Operator - Day Shift

Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Machine Operator – Day Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, ON facility. The Machine Operator’s primary function is to setup and operate fabrication equipment used in the Feeder department for the production of standard and custom panel boards & switch boards to support both internal and external customers. Position Overview: Safely operate Machine(s) based on on-the-job training, standardized operating procedures, detailed work instructions and manufacturer’s requirements. Safety check for machine and supporting equipment and advise supervisor of any concerns. Perform autonomous maintenance and complete safety check sheets. (Shift Pre-Start checklist) Setup machine safely to ensure all guards/interlocks/light curtains are in working order and pinch points and/or potential hazards are eliminated. Run and operate Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM), including using DMM hold codes to report program issue or any other issues. Run and operate drawing search software (Enovia, Vault etc.) to view and print drawings for fabrication purpose. Work from drawings, sketches, manufacturing information to determine dimensions as well as from written or verbal instruction from supervision. Determine the sequence of operations and feed material through machine. Ensure completed production orders are kept in an organized manner; through utilizing proper bin selection, tagging, pallet sizes and routed to the next operation. Monitor operation of machines to clear blockage, prevent jams and breakage and assure adequate lubrication of feed stock. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Completed high school diploma. Minimum two years of brake press experience Minimum one year of fabrication experience. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within an 80 km radius of Milton, ON will be considered. Position Criteria: Ability to read and understand basic drawings and layouts. Good digital skills, including MS Office (Word & Excel). Demonstrated ability to work safely, on multiple projects, in a manufacturing environment. Good problem solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
