Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds division is currently seeking a Machine Operator II to join our team. This position is based at our Houston, TX (Pearland, TX) location at 3530 S Sam Houston Parkway E-Bldg D, Houston 77047. This role starts at $20.14/hr. Position Overview: This position performs duties to construct, fabricate, machine, alter and CNC a wide variety of sheet metal parts and subassemblies for company product line. This role will monitor and run production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs and maintains safe organized and clean work environment. In this function you will: Work from drawings, specs, and routers with understanding in material handling. Understand quality control process of inspection sheets and non-conforming material. Ability to set up and operate saws, punch presses, press brakes, turret punch presses, pemsetter/rivet machines, drill presses, strippit, grinders, power tools and CNC equipment. Understand and identify difference in materials such as brass, aluminum, and stainless steel sheets. Ability to use hand tools such as precision measuring equipment, jigs, fixtures and gauges. Perform preventive maintenance on machinery such as oiling and cleaning. Notify supervisor of more serious problems. Maintain 5-S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within work area. Keep area clean and follow all safety policies and procedures. Ability to lead and cross-train others in proper work duties to control work on shop floor. Ability to adjust tooling or existing programs for all machines in job description. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: High School education or equivalent (i.e diploma or GED) Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations and use basic hand held measuring tools. 1 year of previous experience in manual or CNC machine operations in manufacturing setting required Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years of previous experience in manual or CNC machine operations in manufacturing setting. Previous experience with machine set-up and/or CNC adjustments Training in Safety Rules and Equipment, Ergonomics and Lean Manufacturing. Finn Power CNC Turret punch machine operation and programming skill is preferred. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, can be expected along with other means transfer of tooling, parts, containers and raw castings (8+ hours/day for long periods of time). Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull objects that are up to 35 pounds without assistance, occasionally 50 pounds with assistance. Repetitive wrist, elbow and arm movement continuously throughout the work day. Must be able to wear daily required PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes and hearing protection) as required by company policy and procedures. Able to wear leather gloves required to handle sharp metal and face shield when grinding and deburring. Work Environment: Exposure to high noise level, dust, odors, fumes and oil.
