Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Repair, service, maintain and recondition complex precision machine tools and all mechanical and hydraulic equipment in plant ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Receive work assignment from supervisor and/or higher classified person. Work from drawings, sketches, instruction drawings, specifications and verbal information. Repair, service, maintain and recondition complex machine tools and all mechanical and hydraulic equipment in the plant. Diagnose and remedy trouble and efficiently repair any machine or equipment in service. Responsible for rigging, moving, installing, leveling and adjusting of all new or relocated machines or equipment requiring extreme accuracy to align properly. Repairs may consist of making parts, fitting bearings, spindles, scraping of ways, metalizing, installation and fitting of spare parts and making required machine adjustments. Must be capable of coordinating other skills that may be required. Work in conjunction with other crafts workers on apparatus and shop equipment when required. Responsible for instructing and directing Trainees and co-workers assigned to the job. Identify parts as an aid in proper installation, locating trouble areas and expediting repairs. Keep work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly. Must have successfully completed Machine Repair Training Program Must have certification in mig and tig welding. Qualifications Qualifications: High School Diploma Technical certificate in machine repair or an associates. Two year’s experience working in the field of Machine Repair.
