Position Title: Machinist

Reports to: Machine Shop Manager

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating machine shop equipment such as band saw, abrasive saw, milling machines, CNC lathe, grinding machines.
• Operating heat treat furnaces.
• Operating machine shop measuring equipment such as optical comparators, laser measuring devices, micrometers, etc.
• Daily maintenance of machine shop equipment.
• Ordering supplies and making fixtures if necessary.
• Following stringent quality procedures such as Nadcap.
• Possibly being involved with initial test equipment installation.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate degree or trade school graduate in CNC machining or high school diploma.

Experience:

• Minimum three years laboratory experience in the key responsibilities above with Associate or trade school degree.
• Minimum eight years laboratory experience in the key responsibilities above with high school diploma.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, and Licenses:

• Ability to understand and follow specifications such as ASTM and ASM.
• Knowledge of understanding and following specimen machining drawings.
• Good report writing skill both in Chinese and English.
• Good command of English verbal and reading.
• Good command of computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Familiarity with lean and 5S activities.
• Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
