As a Machinist at Philips in you will assist with creating engineering prototypes for Oral Healthcare, Emergency Care and Resuscitation Solutions, and Ultrasound. In this role you have an opportunity to directly impact lives of people around the world and help solve some of the toughest challenges affecting us today.

You are responsible for

  • Creating prototypes per drawing, sketch or instructions provided by R&D engineers.

  • Constructing and documenting fixtures, experiments or prototype systems with engineering supervision.

  • Performing engineering tests, making observations and making recommendations to engineers.

  • Supporting Product Research Center and clinical studies.

  • Collecting organizing and/or analyzing experimental data and writing technical reports.

  • Maintaining lab equipment and prototype component inventory.

  • Working effectively in a team environment to collaborate and produce results.

  • Leading small projects as assigned.

  • Executing work plans developed by supervisor, usually contributing to multiple projects at any given time.

  • Maintaining 6S standards in the lab.

You are a part of a team that works primarily with manager and/or team leader and other team members. May have contact with other engineering groups on regular basis. May represent manager or work group members in project meetings.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

  • 2-Year electronic technical degree or equivalent technical experience, knowledge and/or certification.

  • Good electrical, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental engineering and physical principles.

  • Must have the ability to think creatively and have a high level of problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying and resolving problems.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to other both verbally and in written form and present information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization.
