JOB PURPOSE

To achieve service levels within the Factory Maintenance Environment through the effective motivation and utilisation of the team within agreed levels of quality, cost and efficiency.

 

Shift Patterns: Monday to Thursday - 40 hours per week

 

Hours: Nightshift - 7.30pm - 6am

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To maintain sewing machinery and other production equipment that support the core business activity and ensure their availability both safely and reliably.
  • To ensure that the activities comply with the relevant statutory duties of the employer as outlined in Section 2 of the 1974 HASAWA and supporting regulations.
  • To provide engineering support for business projects and activities and work with the engineering manager / wider team to achieve the engineering requirements within the agreed timescales.
  • Wherever possible to network across IM and utilise best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productive outputs and present via the Improvement Idea process.
  • To interact positively and interdependently with key stakeholders and to communicate with manager consistently and effectively both formally and informally whilst utilising appropriate reports as necessary.
  • To develop a secure knowledge base within a core team and ensure that site specific knowledge is continuously enhanced by conducting diverse activities
  • Being flexible in regard to duties and working hours to suit the business following reasonable requests by the engineering manager.
  • Engage with vendors and contractors to ensure they are delivering a high standard of workmanship within budget and in a safe manner.
  • Attend training courses as required to enhance engineering knowledge, legislative & H&S requirements.
PERSONAL PROFILE

Experience:

Experience of diagnosing and rectifying faults on sewing machinery

  • Highly Motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptable and Flexible
  • Conscientious
  • Previous sewing machine and production equipment, or similar experience

Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word,
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Engineering qualification
  • Sewing Machine qualifications / experience - preferred
