Maintenance Mechanic - Job Description

Essential Functions:

Operations

• Performs preventative maintenance on warehouse utility equipment.  This includes the following, pumps, valves, gearboxes, and conveyor system.  Maintain battery charging station, forklift trouble shooting and basic electrical knowledge.  May be required to collect, and transport hazardous wastes after completing training in company procedures.

Equipment

• Ensure all had tools necessary for trade is in good working order.  Be able to use power hand tools for pip cutting and threading equipment.  

Quality

• Responsible for making recommendations to the management team regarding continuous improvement of department work processes and operating procedures.  Participate in High Performance Work Teams.  Maintain the highest levels of quality in all material produced for inside and outside distribution.  Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts as required.   

Safety, Sanitation, and Housekeeping

• The Maintenance Tech is responsible for keeping the warehouse and work area clean, neat and orderly.  Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe warehouse.            

Cross Training

• Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of the other positions.  Assist as required.  Act as backup at times of absence or vacation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent/GED (Required)
• 2 years of relevant experience (Preferred)
