Job Overview:
You will maintain systems and equipment by planning and scheduling maintenance work, including preventive, non-emergency, and emergency maintenance activities. You will manage spare parts store rooms, and perform equipment analysis to determine reliability and improve production.
 
Responsibilities:
- Ensure CMMS system such as SAP/I-Pro are updated with plans, schedules, and completed maintenance

- Prepare Preventative Maintenance Plans using manufacturer guidelines and warranties

- Coordinate, track, and review all Preventive Maintenance (PM) for all production-related equipment, including building and monitoring the PM schedules 

- Schedule, track, and develop cost and time estimates of non-emergency and emergency maintenance work

- Order and purchase all necessary parts, equipment, and services, as determined by Scheduler/Planner, for planned maintenance activities

- Manage $10M worth of equipment spare parts store room to include organizing and establishing numbering/stocking methodology, stocking, and maintaining inventory

- Manage and maintain spare parts database

- Monitor key performance indicators and conducts analyses to determine equipment reliability and/or improvements

- Assist with projects to improve production related equipment and advise on strategic maintenance plans

- Use independent judgement to resolve manufacturer spare part number issues, including direct conversation with suppliers of spare parts

- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in an industrial maintenance department

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Proficient in CMMS systems such as SAP/I-Pro, Maximo, or similar systems/software

- Strong organizational skills

- Strong oral and written skills

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
 
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
 
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
