The incumbent will be responsible for the operation and stability of the Plant’s facilities, utilities, and equipment. Provides technical direction to complex and diverse manufacturing and process environment to maintain facilities, utilities, equipment, and systems availability, enhance regulatory compliance and optimize productivity. Manages activities and resources to ensure complete maintenance support is provided to meet manufacturing area needs. Provide support to Operations in terms of equipment troubleshooting, improvement ideas assessment and implementation, and events investigations. Supports the project engineering area in the identification of Capital needs and the subsequent implementation and validation of projects. Responsibilities Responsible for the execution of the preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities at the facilities, utilities, and equipment systems. Implement maintenance solutions to improve Plant Safety, Quality, and Financial Performance. Drives functional performance following Maintenance Excellence (MEP) guidelines to ensure the highest standards of quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance metrics are met. Provide technical expertise (Subject Matter Expert) for the investigation of events related to equipment and systems maintenance. Propose and/or establish corrective and preventive actions as required. Investigate equipment and/or system problems from a maintenance standpoint. Develop and implement appropriate corrective actions aimed to remediate the deficiency and prevent a recurrence. Develop and maintain maintenance requirements for all existing and new equipment within the maintenance responsibilities (Mechanical, Utilities, Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, Refrigeration, Facilities, among others). Revise/identify all equipment spare parts, tools, and other items needed to perform the maintenance work as required from the maintenance standpoint. Evaluate equipment maintenance activities, intervals, and spare parts availability. Implement the necessary changes to the maintenance programs so the technical personnel effort produces the optimum equipment reliability. Supervise exempts and non-exempt personnel such as, but not limited to, supervisors, level entry and senior engineers, maintenance coordinators/planners, and technicians. Manages personnel performance assessments, training, development, and discipline actions following the Human Resources Policies to maintain high personnel productivity and the best achievable service level. Plans and coordinates equipment maintenance shutdowns, including budgeting, activities, and utilization of human resources, technical resources, and scheduling. Assure fulfillment of environmental, health, safety, and energy (EHS&E) requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement and consider EHS&E aspects during the design and change process. Supervise contractor work to assure compliance with company policy, regulatory agencies' expectations, and safety regulations. Achieve the timely execution of maintenance activities within its area of responsibility supporting the following as applicable: 1. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and/or Refrigeration equipment related to process/environmental control, laboratories, and Warehouse equipment. 2. Responsible to support the Plant’s Instrument Calibration Program to keep it in Compliance with procedures and regulations requirements with in-house personnel or outside service contractors. Qualifications Bachelor degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or closely related discipline is required. Experience in project engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance functional areas – 6 years. Supervision experience of maintenance, manufacturing, or utilities non-exempt personnel. Four (4) years of technical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving of Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electric Systems, Distributed Control Systems (“DCS”), PLC’s, Process and/or Utilities Equipment. Computer skills in software such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word. Knowledge in maintenance management systems such as a Maximo is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and leadership skills to supervise exempt and non-exempt employees. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills to manage exempt and non-exempt personnel. Excellent interpersonal skills leading and motivating professional, technical staff, and outside contractors. Effectively communicate with all levels of management and professionals within the Organization. The incumbent needs the ability to manage and organize multiple priorities and achieve results with general guideline. Must have ability to walk within the plant facilities and remain standing and sitting for some periods of time.
