Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Hours: 6am-630pm or 6pm-630am, 4 days on, 4 days off, Rotate day/nights on 3-month frequency

 

Job Purpose/Overview

The reliability technician works within reliability team to maintain equipment through work order completion and preventative maintenance program.  They work as a two or three-person team with responsibility for the entire factory on their shift.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain various processing equipment Including pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems up to 480V.  Equipment Includes extruders, hammer mills, and packaging equipment (palletizers, dosers, packers, and wrappers)
  • Use Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic to trouble-shoot equipment Issues and resolve
  • Use trouble-shooting tools like 5-whys and fishbone diagram to solve problems and reduce downtime on a shift
  • Work with operations and quality team to Implement food safe repairs to equipment
  • Perform timely and effective preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by reliability schedule to prevent downtime or quality incident
  • Context and Scope
  • The reliability tech will work as part of a two-person maintenance team on shift.  They will be assigned work order to accomplish but also use their maintenance awareness to address issues before they become a problem.

 

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a food or healthcare production environment

Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing high speed packaging equipment;
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot with electrical prints
  • Knowledge of CMMS work order/PM programs
  • Familiarity with TPM system or other preventative maintenance program
  • Allen-Bradley or Omron PLC controls knowledge for troubleshooting only

 

Key Functional Competencies & Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with Rockwell Allen Bradley control tools
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience In high speed production environment where food safety and human safety are more Important than production output
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical and electrical skills
  • TPM experience
