Job Description
Join us as a Management Accountant at Siemens Mobility – Mobile Communications in Poole, supporting the Finance and Commercial Manager in ensuring adherence within financial and commercial procedures and Siemens policies. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate month end closing and that documentation and reports are produced and managed in a timely fashion specifically including timely and accurate data in Cyberquery (CQ). This is your role. What part will you play? Your key responsibilities will include the production of monthly accounts, forecasts and budgets and the production of associated reporting and control documentation. Support the management of financial performance so that it meets or exceeds the targeted P&L and highlight any opportunities and vulnerabilities. Undertake month end preparation of accounts (ensuring financial reporting guidelines are followed) and produce the management accounting pack for the Mobile communications area of Rail Infrastructure, including P&L accounts, utilization reports and variance analysis and provide information to relevant managers to facilitate greater understanding of P&L and individual cost centres. Manage cost centres in conjunction with cost centre managers to facilitate understanding and control of cost drivers within the business. Undertake other activities in support of the period end closing activities and management accounting pack as required by the Financial and Commercial Manager, including creating inputs, journals, reconciliations, reports and variance analysis. Perform regular internal business control activities, working with the wider finance organization to drive improvements and consistency across Siemens Mobility. Work with the Finance and Commercial Manager to produce accurate forecasts and budgets to relevant timescales. Work closely with the project accountants and contract manager to ensure timely completion of tasks especially around month end closing. Resource management to include rates, recoveries and ensuring resource data is accurate in CQ. Identify and investigate issues concerning ERP system data and reports provided. To reply promptly to queries from business partners. Make suggestions for continuous improvement and assist in the improvement of procedures, working practices and general efficiency of the finance function and implement improvements in the areas of responsibility. Drive forward the digitalization agenda within the finance dept of MC. Fully participate in the wider working groups within RI to facilitate this agenda. Full responsibility for CQ for forecast budget resource data including timely uploads data quality and data accuracy. What experience do you need to apply for the role? You will have a professional accounting qualification (ideally CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or have made significant progress in examination stages leading to such qualification. Experience in Reporting, Budgeting, Controlling processes Skilled using advanced Excel and other Microsoft office applications. Experience using ERP and SAP systems is desirable Excellent communication and influencing skills to support effective working with colleagues, business partners and direct management, working with other functional areas to address any financial and commercial process issues Ability to understand key objectives and prioritise your work to meet deadlines, react to changing priorities and inform others about changes in time-scale or priority. You will be well organised and be able to work methodically and accurately. Ability to identify and solve any problems you may meet, and to challenge both internal and cross-department processes and procedures if in need of improvement About us We’re Siemens.
