WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
As the Manager of legal and compliance, you will be providing legal and compliance support to ensure the China exams business entity is compliant in all areas of contractual, statutory and regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, you will also provide legal and compliance support to other British Council entities in China, assist the Director Relations, Reporting and Risk in managing and reporting all risks.

You will be a trustworthy adviser to the British Council China management team on all legal compliance matters.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To qualify for the role, you will need to have:
1. English communication Skills: speaking, listening, writing and listening at Proficiency Level C1 (Aptis, IELTS 7 or equivalent); Chinese communication Skills: speaking, listening, writing and listening at Proficiency Level C1 (HK5 or equivalent)
2. Bachelor's degree (LLB) is essential, Master in law /PRC Bar Exams is preferred
3. Demonstrable experience of working in the legal field in law firm(s), and/or in the corporate sector
4. Sound knowledge of Chinese legal system and practices; legal document drafting skills
5. Excellent negotiation skills, sufficient knowledge of contract and company law; sufficient knowledge of dispute resolution in China
