Job Description

The Manager reports to the Secretary General for leading a small team and working in collaboration with other teams of ASHK to manage projects and events for the YASHK. The work shall be carried out in accordance with instructions from the Executive Committee. Examples of projects and events include talks, seminars, forums, meetings, competitions and other activities to promote science and technology in Hong Kong. The manager is also required to provide secretariat support to YASHK, such as organising committee and member meetings and keeping records, financial planning and control, compilation of project proposals and liaison with other parties. The manager will also be required to carry out similar duties for the ASHK.

Suitable candidates should have (i) at least 6 years working experience in management positions for carrying out relevant work; (ii) at least a Bachelor’s degree; (iii) good communication and interpersonal skill and ability to work well with others; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) a strong sense of responsibility; (vi) the ability to work independently with minimal support and under pressure; (vii) well organised and mature; (viii) self-motivated; and (ix) proficient in using common office productivity software.  

Working in irregular hours (including evenings, weekends and holidays) will be required from time to time.

Appointment will be made through a 2-year term contract renewable subject to the requirements of ASHK, performance, availability of fund and other relevant factors.  

Salaries will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The ASHK secretariat practices five-day workweek and offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical and dental care, annual leaves, MPF, plus a generous contract-end gratuity. The terms mentioned herein are subject to revision.
