Reporting to the Head of Department, the appointee is expected to manage all administrative aspects of the Department, such as UG and PG programs, budgeting, personnel-related administration, and be responsible for leading the entire General Office to ensure smooth operation of the Department.
More specifically, the appointee will be responsible for coordinating and leading the inter-departmental collaboration across different programs and liaising with external parties such as academic/industrial partners where necessary in support of the School-wide initiatives and special projects’ implementation; managing both the UG and PG programs and executing quality assurance plans to ensure that both programs operate smoothly; developing office resources planning, and managing the departmental financial accounts; administering all personnel matters for both faculty and staff; serving as secretary to departmental committees; leading, supervising and training junior/clerical staff to maintain effective operation in the General Office; and undertaking any other projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant post-qualification work experience, strong office managerial skill, especially in human resources and administering academic programs in a tertiary institution. The appointee should be a high calibre person with an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. He/She should be an excellent team-player and be able to work independently. Good IT knowledge is highly desirable. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
