The Public Affairs Office manages not only the HKUST’s outbound communications, but it also serves as a resource to local, national and international media organizations, and manages the University’s online presence. It also formulates and drives strategic communications initiatives, plans events that establish and promote HKUST’s image from near and far. The mission of the Public Affairs Office is to build bridges between the University and its constituent units, as well as with the wider community.
The Brand Marketing team of the Office helps deliver the University’s vision and image through raising HKUST’s local and global profile, fostering ties with the community, and relaying the University’s developments and achievements to our stakeholders. These responsibilities are carried out via strategic communication plans involving a relevant mix of events, platforms and channels, including advertising, multimedia, and digital marketing.
We are seeking a high caliber individual to assist in driving holistic marcom and digital branding initiatives of the University. Major duties include developing and managing the University’s website; administering the University’s social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, WeChat and Instagram and the like, through content proposal and development, strategic scheduling, and acting as the quality gatekeeper for content; analyzing data from social media platform and website monitoring tools, and identifying findings and producing periodical reports for effective marketing plans. The appointee will support the coordination and execution of various brand-building campaigns and social events, conduct desktop research, and assist in the development of marketing and promotional materials. He/She will also supervise subordinates and coordinate with peers and service providers for content and project development to ensure good time and quality management. The appointee should be flexible to emerging requirements from the team as the needs arise.
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with substantial years of post-qualification work experience, a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), sound IT skills, up-to-date knowledge of digital communication and the trend of social media landscape, good relationship management, and strong communication and presentation skills. The appointee should be reliable, a good team player, self-motivated, detail-minded, and be capable of multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines. Applicants with experience in project management, digital/social media management and strong writing and data analytical skills will have an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
