Risk advisory includes Deloitte China's sustainability and climate change (S&CC) services. Our team is now recruiting a Manager to play an important role in building and developing the service and team in Beijing. With a strong consulting/advisory background, the ideal candidate will have expertise in

• Energy and low carbon policy in China


• Government and stakeholder consultation


• Green finance and responsible investment
  Additional experience in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and reporting, and sustainable supply chains would be ideal.
  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of S&CC projects that make a difference, as well as, business development and proposal writing. The successful candidate will be required to quickly familiarize themselves with the Deloitte project management and other systems, to ensure smooth project management and execution. The team is growing and in due course the role may be expanded. A passion for sustainability and climate change issues and a flexible and enthusiastic attitude to work are essential.

Job Description:

• Work as part of a team to grow and develop sustainability and climate change services to become 'best in class' in China


• Provide subject matter expertise on policy trends, innovation efforts, leading practices, and Chinese institutional arrangements and dynamics


• Ability to build and maintain international and local stakeholder networks, and establish credibility with senior Chinese stakeholders


• Provide insights that enable clients to make strategic decisions and define an impactful vision


• Lead cross sectorial projects to deliver a superior client experience


• Prepare and finalize reports and presentation so they are strategically aligned with the client’s goals and drive business success


• Adopt a global approach to networking, building eminence, and assembling teams to best serve clients and maximize engagement impact


• Ability to project confidence, establish credibility with, and influence clients at all levels


• Support the senior team members to develop business development opportunities and write proposals


• Collaborate with other service lines within Deloitte

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or above in science, engineering, economics, accounting, environment, or other relevant discipline


• Relevant masters or other further degree preferred, but not essential


• Solid experience of working in a consulting environment


• 6-8 years experience in sustainability and climate change subject-matter areas


• Experience in giving client presentations


• Strong analytical skills with high commitment to providing quality client service


• Ability to direct own work and take initiative, as well as direct junior team members


• Team working skills


• Ability to remain calm under pressure


• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Chinese


• Willingness to travel


• Passion for sustainability related subjects.
