Position Title: Manager, Clinical Science Liaison
Position Type: Regular, Full-Time

Location: Field-based Ontario
As the CSL Manager, you will collaborate with the leadership team to develop the strategic plan to meet the Corporate and Medical objectives and will lead the activities of a highly motivated CSL team.
Core Responsibilities
- Demonstrates scientific and business expertise of the AZ portfolio
- Builds and leads field-based CSL teams while creating a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Ensures CSL activities are aligned to AZ corporate and Brand Medical Strategy
- Implements Field Scientific Affairs (SA) strategy and objectives across prioritized customer segments to support strategic direction
- Is a member of internal project teams representing Field SA and customer perspectives
- Gathers customer insights and communicates actionable items to Leadership and other internal colleagues
- Ensures alignment of CSL activities with Commercial customer facing roles through co-ordination without direction
- Builds accountability and ownership of individual and team success
- Follows all guidelines and policies
- Differentiates the CSL role from other Medical/Scientific roles and commercial roles to ensure value of work and a positive experience for our customer
- Responsible for recruiting and on-boarding, performance management and career development
- Facilitates scientific and skill training, as well as mentoring and coaching to support professional development and success in role
- Maintains qualitative and quantitative metrics that include standard AZ CSL core requirements, including required certification(s) consistent with other MSL/CSL teams
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and AZ Local and Global Policies and Guidelines
- Manages and oversees team financial resources
- Successfully liaises with EU and global influencers
Qualifications
- Self-starter and a great teammate, works within diverse groups, can improve team cohesiveness and agility while effectively coaching and developing others
- Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Ability to learn and effectively synthesize/ communicate clinical and scientific information at a peer level with a physician to build positive long-term relationships
- Deep understanding of the health care environment including the Primary Care, and the Medical Community in general
- Travel required (Local, Regional and National), possesses a valid driver's license
- Knowledge in Respiratory Medicine is preferred, however, wiling to change or expand into other therapeutic areas to adapt to business needs
Suggested Background
- Advanced university degree in science or clinical qualification, with relevant management experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Medical Affairs/Scientific Affairs
- Previous management experience, preferably of a field-based team, is an asset
- Experience developing and/or executing product strategy including product launch preparation and execution
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including coaching others to communicate complex technical, scientific or medical information to various audiences
- Thorough knowledge of the local regulatory requirements
