Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Manager, Communications – Eaton’s Digital Office to join our team. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH location. Position Overview: As the manager of global communications for Eaton’s Digital Office you will be at the heart of the company’s exciting transformation into an intelligent power management company. In this role, you will develop communication strategies and campaigns that will help instill a digital mindset across the company (and globe), help us improve our internal business processes, reach our customers better and provide them with new value. You will work closely with leaders across the company, including C-Level leadership, to advise and support them in the strategic management of communications as well work with a team to protect the company’s image and enhance its reputation as a top company to turn to for intelligent power management. This role will be focused 75% on internal activities related to change management, employee engagement, communications strategy and planning, and executive communications. While 25% of the successful candidate’s time will be focused on externally facing thought leadership, media, social, and public relations activities as well as issues/crisis management as needed. This person will be a member of our media response team and a spokesperson for the company. The manager, communications, will be part of a strong, passionate team of communication professionals and will report to the Vice President, Corporate Communications. In this function you will: Develop and implement company-wide internal and external communications and change management plans in support of our transformation into an intelligent power management company. Use data to ensure programs are delivering on their promises and to prioritize work. Work to embed digital tools and technologies in their personal day-to-day work and life activities and educates others on how they can also do so effectively. Partner with Marketing Communications teams on customer-facing campaigns. Help executives create impactful communications. This could include preparing talking points, town halls, SharePoint sites, articles, blogs, presentations, newsletters, fact sheets, infographics, videos, news releases, briefing materials, holding statements, social media posts, and Q&A documents. Proactively identifie issues that could impact the company’s image and reputation – especially focused on company’s technologies, current events, and timely news items; and develops strategies for managing issues. Key company spokesperson and member of the crisis media response team. Communicate with media outlets and journalists to enhance Eaton’s image and reputation in the Digital space. Coordinates executive media relations activities; develops communications skills of our leaders through coaching & training (includes message training and spokesperson preparation). Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 7 years’ experience writing or in Journalism, Communications, Marketing Communications, or related Public Relations role Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Public Relations or related field preferred. Experience with an industrial like Eaton. 1 year experience and knowledge of digital transformation journeys and prior industrials or software companies Change management experience. Global experience. Excellent writing and editing skills Position Criteria: Passionate about technology. Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other communication enabling technologies like Power Point, InDesign, Photoshop, Hootsuite, etc. Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills; ability to convert complex information into compelling content. Creative, but with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong work ethic with high standards and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team. High energy and enthusiasm to pro-actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and collaboration within the communications function.
