Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Manager, Data Protection and Privacy to join our team. The preferred location of this role would be based at our Beachwood, OH location with the option of a hybrid work schedule. We are also offering remote work for candidates living more than 50 miles outside of the preferred location. Position Overview: The Manager Global Data Protection and Privacy will be responsible for the strategic lead and management of individual processes of the global Data Protection and Privacy Program, including but not limited to the subject rights management, training, M&A activities and audit procedures. The Manager Global Data Protection and Privacy is also responsible for the coordination and execution of the organization's Data Protection and Privacy Program including but not limited to daily operations of the program, procedures, investigation and tracking of incidents and insuring data subjects' rights in compliance with global Data Protection and Privacy laws. The Manager Global Data Protection and Privacy will also be providing the strategic leadership and will be responsible for the development, planning and deployment of Data Protection and Privacy training and communication program. The Manager Global Data Protection and Privacy will develop and maintain broad network of business relationships across all levels of the organization to support Eaton's Data Protection and Privacy program. In this function you will: Strategically lead the Data Protection and Privacy training and communication program. Build Data Protection and Privacy training and communication multi-year execution strategy. Identifying, developing and deploying new tools and processes and continuously improving communications methods. Partner with the Digital Team to support implementation of device data strategy and help prepare for upcoming legislation. Independently lead and own privacy program components such as the subject rights management, training, M&A activities and audit procedures. Interface with senior management to develop strategic plans for the collection, use and sharing of information in a manner that maximizes its value while complying with applicable data protection and privacy regulations. Identify and drive improvement opportunities within the Data Protection and Privacy program. Conduct risk assessments and monitor internal controls, ensuring issues are documented and tracked to closure and liaison with relevant stakeholders. Perform crisis management when an incident arises, including identifying, investigating, and remediating privacy incidents and breaches in a timely manner consistent with program requirements, leading crisis communications, developing solutions to unexpected situations, identifying training opportunities and liaising with appropriate stakeholders to drive alignment and coordinated resolutions. Develop and maintain periodic reporting of privacy program components. Deploy self-service tools to support digital and other customer needs for program components, including privacy agreements, photo consent and surveys. Conduct Data Protection Assessments and serve as lead contact for IT and Product and Engineering teams to ensure that products and IT systems are incorporating privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default principles. Manage development and change management related to policies, communication, notices and guidance for the the privacy program. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution At least 2 years of experience in the field of Data Protection and Privacy and/or Cybersecurity Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Data Protection and Privacy related certificate (e.g. CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPP/E, CIPM) a plus Strong knowledge and understanding of IT systems and infrastructure in multinational companies. Experience in Data Mapping and good understanding of information flows and systems integration. Strong knowledge of sales and marketing systems and processes at an enterprise scale. Familiarity with the European’s General Data Protection Regulation, ePrivacy Regulation, California Consumer Privacy Act and other global data protection regulations. Position Criteria: Ability to translate the data protection obligations in the context of the services the company provides. Demonstrated ability to lead projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong English language ability. Additional language capability (e.g. Spanish) a plus. Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization. Ability to measure results of training and communications and demonstrate their impact on the organization Ability to travel occasionally. High degree of independence and strong presentation skills. Integrity and high standard professional ethics. Strong intercultural skills and ability bridging cultural differences. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
