Job Description
Eaton’s Corporate division is currently seeking a Manager, Direct Tax COE to join our team. This position is based at our Mexico City Office. The Manager, Direct Tax COE is responsible for managing the compliance function for the Spanish-speaking countries and identifying cost savings opportunities. Though the main function is compliance, the Manager, LATAM Direct Tax COE also assists the Manager, International Tax Strategy with analysis and implementation. Some activities related with the position will be: Lead the LATAM Direct Tax COE, including income tax returns, payments in advance, ISSIF, informative returns and other filings to be in compliance with the Mexican government for Mexican legal entities as well as Spanish–speaking LATAM countries. Review and develop the work of all members of the LATAM Direct Tax COE; and contribute to the success of the Team, improve review process and working papers. Assist in the implementation of various projects and initiatives as required, such as federal, state and municipal incentives and tax process improvements Establish and develop strong relationships with Eaton's Spanish-speaking LATAM accounting/finance and operations personnel to proactively identify tax opportunities and risks. Assist/Lead Direct Tax audits, including the utilization of critical thinking skills and professional judgment to bring audits to a favorable conclusion. Mentor and develop Supervisors and Analysts; and contribute to the success of the Direct Tax Team. #LI-AP01 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Undergraduate degree with CPA or comparable qualification; Master of Tax or Law degree is a plus Minimum 8 years tax experience Big 4 combined with multinational corporation is a strong plus Fluent in English Demonstrated knowledge of compliance and research of tax laws Preferred Qualifications: Ability to resolve complex issues and understand impacts to Eaton Strong Microsoft Office skills Demonstrated leadership of tax team Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, identify issues, develop and implement solutions We make what matters work.
