Job Description
Eaton’s Corporate team is currently seeking a Manager of Employee Relations to join our team. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH location. If residing outside 50 miles of posted location, relocation needs to be offered. Position Overview: This position supports deployment and management of Eaton policies and practices with respect to employee relations matters by: supporting HR policies, programs, practices, tools and vendors; acting as primary support to guide and direct field HR regarding company practice and policy as well as legal implications. In this function you will: Provide guidance and support to field HR and HR Services regarding Eaton’s policies and applicable legislative requirements – including: contingent workforce management, background check, drug test, Form I9/E-Verify, ADAAA, outplacement and employment verification. Support day-to-day aspects of several vendor relationships in support of employment policies and programs – Impact group, Bartech, HireRight, and Equifax Drive organizational capability and functional excellence within the Employee Relations function, including an Employee Relations training plan and the development of a system/process to ensure compliance with rapidly evolving state laws Plan and coordinate employee relations projects on an ongoing basis Continuously research and monitor changes to legislation, regulations and court rulings that may impact employment policies and practices; review/revise company policy/process as required and educate HR professionals on legal, regulatory and labor trends and developments to ensure compliance and a low risk profile for Eaton Support development of appropriate solutions for issues that are often non-routine and complex, requiring research, analysis, consideration of precedent, and often in collaboration with legal counsel Consult with other internal Eaton functions (e.g. Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Ethics, I&D, Talent Acquisition and HR Services) on various matters to ensure consistent and compliant implementation of programs and policies Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: MBA preferred Large-scale cross functional project team management experience Two years at the HR Supervisor or HR Manager level experience preferred Position Criteria: Strong knowledge and application of US employment law Significant experience with day to day application of HR policies and procedures Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to influence and impact others’ decision making while balancing business needs with legal requirements Ability to deal with ambiguity and make decisions; possesses managerial courage Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills Ability to develop practical solutions considering business impact Strong analytical ability and learning agility As a contractor with the Federal government, Eaton is subject to the Executive Order mandating COVID-19 vaccination.
