Manager Engineering Switching & Breaking Devices (m/f/d) PMCC ICP Engineering / Bonn / fulltime / unlimited The main task of the engineering manager "Switching & Breaking Devices" is to lead all engineering activities for ICPs motor protection, low voltage switchgear and electromechanical control devices. He/she guides his teams through the full product lifecycle from the ideation till the product termination and is focused on innovation. These activities include the communication and close collaboration with other Power Management & Control Component (PMCC) and other Eaton R&D entities globally distributed. Tasks and Responsibilities: Manage Resources, understand resource planning and develop resource models for waterline projects and product maintenance work for the team Managing of responsibilities within the assigned team of engineers, develop and continuously improve organizational capabilities of the team to follow technology advancement Promotes and supports continuous improvement of processes and innovations Achieve the technical- and customer requirements as well as standards, legal requirements, other requirements, and the quality in close collaboration with the Quality-departments Ensure engineering tasks e.g., requirement- and change-management including managing of FMEA- (Failure Mode and Effects and Criticality Analysis) and lesson learned measures Lead engineering projects and work package approvals to meet financial goals and growth targets in close collaboration with engineering project managers and specialist engineers Drive VAVE ( Value Analysis / Value Engineering) activities for assigned products Business trips, temporarily project work at international Eaton locations Qualifications Required qualifications and skills Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or mechatronic No less than 5 years’ of work and leadership experience in the field of engineering Special know-how of mechanical design, electromechanical design, electronic design (advantage), Experience with Design for Six Sigma is an advantage Development of new products and improvement of existing products leveraging simulation and digital prototyping Special pro-active problem-solving and effective communication skills Experience in collaboration with distributed („virtual“) development teams at different international locations Fluent English and German (oral and written) What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
