Job Description
As Manager Engineering Technical Platforms Electronics and Software, you will be responsible for leading all Electronic & Software engineering activities and tasks and Technical Platforms as well as for assessing and approving the new software and electronic technology. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing PLS and smaller NPD projects and leading project teams to meet project objectives. You will be responsible for managing and developing assigned R&D team and members. Job Responsibilities Provide expertise and strategy input for electronic & SW products, technology and regulations and carries knowledge for functional and operational business Ensure the development of future professionals (software specialists, etc. ) Technical lead for the team on all product / technology related topics. Create platforms for applicable for both BL ICP/PDC Ensure meeting product cost targets through appropriate design actions in NPD/DTC/quality projects Provide input to technology roadmaps, product roadmaps and profit / project plans Ensure development and alignment of electronic & SW product specifications with all required stakeholders Manage all technical electronic & SW product (design) issues to ensure product availability in the right quality throughout the product Life cycle (e.g., issues resulting from phase out of parts, quality issues, etc.) Ensure new product documentation Drive use of senior level simulation methodologies, component, technology and process selection, Eaton DFSS and electrical, electronic & software standards. Provide support to Manager Product Development and direction within the R&D group, securing compliance with standards, and adherence of engineering processes with ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 and EHS directive as well as EBS. Manage design work with divisions and product lines and Engineering/Innovation Center, as well as internal and external service providers/partners to meet program requirements Qualifications Qualifications Engineer, Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in electronic/software engineering or equivalent education Experience in the design of electrical components, knowledge of breaker related electronics/software, accessories and electronic fuses, products preferred Strong motivation to work with several BL/PL and across regions Experience in working across regions for Platform designs Strong technical attitude. product knowledge and strong knowledge of UL, IEC, CE, NEC standards Stay abreast of technology trends In depth experience in similar product design and technology Proven program/project management skills Experience in different ERP and Data Management systems Capability to drive innovative solutions for relevant products Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels in and outside the organization Fluent communication skills in German and English Business acumen Experience in leading a team of technical experts Proven problem-solving competence Travel expected: 30% What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
