Job Description

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), set up in September 1998 under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485) (MPFSO), has been entrusted by the Government the task to design, develop and operate a digital platform, eMPF Platform, to standardize, streamline and automate the existing MPF scheme administration processes. Through the adoption of new technologies and innovative solution, this user-centric platform will bring about revolutionary change to the MPF ecosystem, thus creating further rooms for scheme administration fee reduction to all MPF scheme members.

 

In July 2020, the Legislative Council has approved the first phase of amendments to the MPFSO to empower the MPFA to set up a wholly owned subsidiary (the eMPF Platform Company) to take forward the eMPF Platform project. We are now looking for personnel to join us for undertaking this multi-billion HK dollar transformation project leading the MPF ecosystem to a new era. If you are passionate to creating an impact to benefit the working population of Hong Kong and are keen and willing to work in a start-up style environment, we invite you to join the eMPF Platform Company. Successful candidates will be employed by the MPFA to work in the eMPF Platform Provisional Office (PO). Upon incorporation of the eMPF Platform Company, the employment will be transferred from the MPFA to the eMPF Platform Company.

 

Major Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Director (SD) of the eMPF Platform Company, the appointee will support the SD in managing the affairs in the SD’s office; be the key point of contact to liaise with internal and external parties; and assist SD’s business agenda to deliver the highest quality of corporate projects or initiatives. The major responsibilities include:

  • To provide support to SD in driving a robust business agenda for the execution and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives as well as corporate events and affairs;
  • To serve as SD’s administrative liaison to both internal and external stakeholders in coordinating business development and operational priorities, including organizing and coordinating external relations efforts in collaboration with relevant units;
  • To accompany and provide support to meetings chaired by SD, such as pre-meeting analysis, note taking and post-meeting follow-up actions, etc., with internal and external parties;
  • On occasion to attend meetings to represent SD;
  • To play an active role to support communications for internal and external requests, and act as a bridge for effective communication between SD’s Office and all relevant parties;
  • To perform analyses, conduct researches, and prepare presentation materials for SD on internal and external events;
  • To own and progress certain key topics, risks and issues as they arise;
  • To provide Chinese translation and interpretation for SD;
  • To prioritize and follow-through on a broad variety of tasks in SD’s Office, and promptly update SD on upcoming issues and raise awareness for any possible circumstances that may require special attention; and
  • To collaborate with the Personal Assistant in overseeing SD’s Office.

 

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in any discipline; 
  • Highly logical, numerate and analytical, disciplined and consistent;
  • At least six years of relevant experience, ideally with experience in working under the office of senior management such as MD, CEO, and/or Chairman;
  • Strong ethics and integrity in handling confidential information;
  • Good diplomatic skill in interacting and building relationships with people across and outside of the company to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities, and carrying out projects independently;
  • A lateral thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders effectively and tactfully;
  • Independent, highly organized, self-initiative, detail-oriented, and proactive in work approach; 
  • Dedicate work ethics to deliver high standard of excellence and take ownership of the responsibility to all tasks assigned; 
  • Creative, energetic, and mature individual with strong business acumen; 
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; and
  • High standard of written and spoken English and Chinese.
