Job Description

Objectives of the Role:

Support the implementation of the Government & Industry Affairs engagement in Southern China.

Identify priorities as they map to the GR macro-themes and highlighting any issues specific to your country/region. Specific emphasis on the engagement in and around Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Engage with regulators when necessary to support the China GR team.

Create a recommended plan to monitor and have engagement in this region (via in house team, consultants, advisors, network, etc.) to ensure we are proactive vs reactive on political, regulatory and industry critical issues.

Be the point person to arrange visits, meetings and events to leverage senior Refinitiv team engagement from greater China, Asia and internationally.

Manage the relationship with local government and SOEs and organisations in Southern China including:

Financial contacts including: CFETS, SSE, SZSE, Asset Management organisations, NIFI, ASIFI, Shanghai DRC, Lujiazui Management, Shanghai Mayor’s office, etc.

Maintain links with the SOEs & private companies important in our work including major banks, asset managers, infrastructure players and technology companies (ie: CCB, BoCom, Alibaba, Tencent), data providers (ie: Wind) and partners. Working closely with the SAM team and China Management to leverage engagement and relationships.

Support from China on engagement with the international bilateral and multilateral dialogues including the UK China EFD, US-China financial dialogue, EU-China dialogue, China Development Forum, Boao Forum, LJZ Forum, WEF Dalian, etc.

Brief contacts by engaging and influencing the stakeholders in China on data topics as per above and particularly in the areas of:

Sustainable Finance

Infrastructure investing

Innovation/FinTech

Provide input into the China strategy and the team progressing initiatives including:

Obtaining necessary licences

Planning for corporate structuring

JV’s and partnerships with government, quasi-government and SOE bodies
