Job Description
Healthcare management consulting focuses on aligning strategy, organisation, operations and supporting processes to help our clients to achieve their growth ambition and other organisational objectives. We provide customized solutions to our clients to assist in making them successful players in healthcare.

Responsibilities

The Manager role primarily involves the following:
  • Participating in the rapid expansion of the healthcare management consulting practice by contributing to the creation of effective business development and market expansion strategies in relation to healthcare
  • Building and maintaining important client relationships, including managing key client interfaces during project delivery
  • Managing and delivering high quality projects and results ensuring highest customer satisfaction
  • Working with senior team members to lead and deliver market and operational reviews, strategic studies and business plan reviews
  • Developing robust hypotheses to facilitate the formulation and structure of solutions to key client issues and strategic questions
  • Conceiving and undertaking primary and secondary research to help clients assess the opportunities and benefits for their organisations.
  • Designing and executing financial and operational analyses to support the development of strategic insights (including consideration of market development, organisational options and responses, capacity/capability-building requirements, etc.)
  • Developing business cases and plans underpinned by robust financial and operational analysis in support of strategic initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with client staff and management, often working in joint teams in the development and delivery of recommendations and presenting findings to senior client management
  • Driving the content of deliverables and presentations to clients
  • Supporting the healthcare partner/director to grow healthcare practice in Chengdu. Building healthcare capabilities and execute business, marketing and operations plans to drive business growth in healthcare
  • Providing healthcare insights to local teams and being involved in delivering business proposals and consulting projects
  • Recruiting a team of experienced consultants to manage projects in the areas of healthcare. Managing and mentoring junior staff
  • Managing resource allocation and optimization of resource utilization to ensure maximized performance of the team
  • Contributing to thought leadership and knowledge management to support practice development
  • Working with international teams in ASPAC & Global KPMG to execute Global Healthcare initiatives and requests
  • Managing alliance relationships with KPMG's key alliance partners in China/Asia Pacific

Qualifications

  • Ideally the candidate should have a Master / Doctor degree in management and / or healthcare or a closely related discipline (e.g. MBA, clinical medicine, public health etc.)
  • Five to eight years (or more) experience in healthcare management, healthcare policy planning and development, management consultancy or professional services advisory with demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Experience of working in Ministry of Health, local Health Bureau or universities in the areas of policy developing and implementation
  • Setting up and / or operational management of public or private hospitals in China
  • Developing performance framework for hospitals with key operational, financial and quality measures
  • Financial management of services including budgeting, forecasting and delivering of financial targets
  • Delivery of medium / large size consulting projects to healthcare clients in one or more areas of strategy, operations, quality, finance, business transformation, IT systems and procurement
  • Successfully planned, getting staff prepared and working with external organizations and internal departments to achieve JCI (or other relevant) accreditations
  • Preference will be given to candidates with in-depth industrial experience and/or appropriate certification (e.g. project management) in consulting firm
  • The successful candidate should also demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills (including PPT skills and Excel)
  • Experience in managing high impact, complex and analytically challenging projects in high-pressure, milestone-based environments
  • An ability to interface with senior industry executives and strong formal presentation skills
  • Industry experience should include in-depth exposure in healthcare. Candidates with depth in multiple industries will have an advantage
  • We require all candidates to have a flexible, creative and innovative approach to problem solving and possess strong interpersonal and communication skill
  • Fluency in both written and oral Mandarin (Putonghua) and English is required
