The HKUST MBA Programs is searching for a capable and dynamic individual to fill the position of Manager in the MBA Office. Reporting to the Head of MBA Programs, the appointee will be responsible for MBA academic affairs and student engagement with focus on the following areas:
Student engagement: actively engage students to maintain a positive student body and collect useful feedback for continuous improvement.
MBA course planning and scheduling: craft and implement the annual course plan for the MBA Programs, work closely across teams to manage all MBA course scheduling, registration, exemption and relevant arrangements. Lead the electives planning and promotion to optimize enrollment.
Academic policy enforcement and student advising: conduct course selection briefings to students, provide advice to MBA students’ study plan according to their personal development and career plan. The candidate shall be able to contribute with flexible and value-adding solutions on students’ situations that align with the University’s and MBA’s academic policy. He/She shall be able to think strategically and work with a meticulous mindset, and be able to uphold the academic policy when necessary.
Daily course operation and faculty support: oversee the daily course operations with a team of two to three staff members, duties including course support; classrooms assignment; preparation of teaching equipment; purchase of course materials (textbooks and cases) and handling faculty payment. He/she should be capable of problem-solving with valid judgement.
Ad-hoc projects: lead or coordinate ad-hoc projects as requested by supervisors, such as global programs, system integration, AI chatbot, ranking and accreditation.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and preferably a master’s degree with at least 7 years of work experience. Prior experience in universities or self-financed graduate programs is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should be independent, self-motivated and meticulous with strong analytical skill. He/She shall be able to lead and coach a small team. Knowledge in Microsoft Excel will be an advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong command of written and spoken English are required. Working outside normal office hours and weekends may be required. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
