The IT Lean Champion is an exciting opportunity for a leader interested in driving transformational change across key IT processes and systems and who enjoys shaping a culture of applying Lean to simplify and free up time for innovation.

The Lean Practitioner – He/She will be responsible for driving the Lean activities happening as a part of the Lean CoE initiative in IT, Chennai. This person would also be responsible to build and sustain a Lean culture across the IT Organization in Chennai. He/She should be able to offer a high level of support to the Chennai Leadership team and work closely with the Lean CoE head in achieving the Lean Objectives for IT. Must ensure very strong and sustained engagement with customers, suppliers, Simplification/Lean counterparts, Lean Community and all relevant stakeholders to achieve the Lean Objectives.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Responsible for driving a step-change in the Lean / Continuous Improvement agenda across the enterprise:
  • Creative and out-of-the-box thinking with the ability to introduce lean methodologies using non-traditional approaches within a vibrant, entrepreneurial science-focused culture.
  • Work with all levels of the organization to shape, lead and guide Lean programs and initiatives.
  • Design innovative enterprise solutions to complex cross-functional problems and deploy solutions via effective change management.
  • The highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus, resilience and flexibility
  • Training and influencing others at all levels to embrace and adopt the Lean concepts and agenda.

The Lean Practitioner is primarily accountable for:

  • Ensuring right projects are identified, initiated, completed, reviewed and outcomes recorded for all the Lean projects in IT
  • To implement Lean Capability Framework within the IT functions
  • Establish Visual Management for the allocated function from the Lower level to the Leadership team
  • Establishing a sustainable robust Lean culture by identifying and communicating the best practices among the other Lean champions and key stakeholders within IT
  • Closely interacting & coordinating with the global stakeholders in IT to sustain the lean initiatives
  • Ensuring necessary support and information are provided from a site and Initiative perspective to Lean CoE
  • Ensure that there is a good contribution to a continuous increase in the knowledge/skill of the associates (in Lean) across the site.
  • Work on Lean-Agile-DevOps Synergy & create awareness on the same to our IT associates.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering and/or Business Master’s level degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of overall experience in an industry
  • Demonstrated significant industry related experience (at least 5-6 years) in Lean/Six Sigma projects and programs preferably in Healthcare, Life Sciences and/ or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Working knowledge of IT processes and their importance from a business standpoint
  • Requires a sound understanding of how Lean philosophy can be leveraged in IT/functional space.
  • Should have managed multiple large Lean projects concurrently resulting in significant business impact.

Desirable

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from an accredited external Quality program / reputed Organization.
  • Expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodology.
  • PMP certification along with excellent Program Management exposure.
  • Prior experience of helping IT / Services stakeholders with the Lean initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean best practice from the external world and other related industries.
  • Knowledge on “Agile” Way of Working.
