You will manage the provision of legal advice and opinions to all divisions and subsidiaries of the group timeously, cost-effectively, and accurately. You will also manage the preparation, negotiation, and finalisation of agreements, contracts, and tender documents or other documents of legal or quasi-legal consequence timeously and efficiently whilst also adhering to group regulations and law. You will manage the litigation or threatened litigation in the respective legal and arbitration forums efficiently and with the least possible interference or effect to BMW operations and providing business with learning outcomes to improve business processes. You will also be handling intellectual property matters cost-effectively and with the least possible interference on BMW’s operations. You will be expected to liaise with attorneys, regulators, the NAAMSA Legal Forum, government departments, and BMW AG legal and other departments. Where appropriate and necessary, you will manage the service levels of external legal service providers to ensure cost-effective, quality services within agreed timeframes. In the delivery of your function, you will be expected to assess business impact and provide solutions to mitigate risks, taking a holistic approach.

You will provide professional, effective legal support services, assistance and advice in all aspects of BMW’s operations to all BMW’s divisions, departments and subsidiaries to enable BMW to achieve its overall business objectives.

Minimimum Requirements:

• BA, LLB or equivalent law degree, admitted attorney
• 4-7 years’ experience of general legal work (exclusive of articles)
• Good knowledge of commercial law, competition law, consumer protection, corporate governance, intellectual property law, labour law
• Good legal drafting skills
• Analytic and good decision-making skills, driving results in a business-orientated manner
