Job Description

The Manager, Pricing and Payer Negotiations Analytics will lead analytic and decision support for the development of product listing agreements and contracting strategies with public and private payers across AstraZeneca’s portfolio of products. The individual will be accountable for developing robust forecasting and financial models to support execution of payer negotiations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Both technical and analytical expertise within a matrixed team environment as a central resource for Senior Managers within the Patient Access function.
  • Work collaboratively with functional partners and business unit partners to support negotiation work.
  • Uses data mining, new insights, and environmental trends to build strategies and plans.
  • Develops analytics and financial modelling capability to support pricing and contract negotiation strategy with payers
  • Supports contracting framework for AstraZeneca Canada
  • Ensures contract documentation requirements are followed and supports the contract approval requirements and process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in relevant specialization, (quantitative analysis is an asset)
  • Relevant pharmaceutical business experience (2-4 years) in commercial, finance, or market access
  • Previous market access, pharmaceutical or payer experience is not a pre-requisite; knowledge of PMPRB data reporting preferable
  • Strong analytical skills – forecasting, financial modelling, business impact analysis and database management with keen attention to detail and able to seek new insights to build customer and market strategy
  • Strong communications skills (written, spoken and presentation)
  • Excellent technical skills – Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to think creatively in developing new business solutions
  • Fluency in French is desirable
