The Procurement Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the global procurement plan. This position will be responsible for translating the sales forecast into a supply plan for manufacturing execution, providing requirements to internal and third-party manufacturing sites, working closely with sites to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods according to requirements, managing daily inventory requirements through direct coordination with other functional groups, but not limited to, Logistics, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Sales, and Marketing. The Procurement Manager will ensure best practices are leveraged in Supply and Inventory Management processes for Global Finished Goods. Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing and others in support of all procurement requirements Ensure an organizational culture of transparent communication, early visibility / escalation of issues, and urgency for corrective action by emphasizing r oot cause understanding and continuous improvement. The manager reviews product forecasts, purchasing quotes, purchase orders, and vendor contracts for alignment with company objectives. Scheduling, purchasing and expediting of Direct and Indirect materials in support of all departments. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best overall value. Ensures materials are expedited, manages escalations with suppliers, coordinates informationwith internal stakeholders, drives issues to closure Perform opportunity analysis to identify and execute projects that will deliver significant efficiency gains, cost savings, and inventory reductions Facilitates New Product releases to purchasing, Item and quote master settings, expedites material, drives escalation and cross-functional resolution of design and or quality related issues Maintain accurate procurement item and quote master MRP settings and supplier delivery information within the given ERP systems Prepares for management status reports on metrics, projects and programs Monitor inventory levels to determine required demand and adequate stock levels Request quotes, samples and production first articles for evaluation of new product designs and potential suppliers Manage suppliers with price discrepancies, damaged or returned material, logistics and other supplier issues. Communicate and work with the Accounting Department on any payable issues. Maintain key policies and procedures. Reconcile material receipts and invoicing discrepancies May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned Qualifications B.A. Degree or minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a start-up, NPI or manufacturing environment Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word. SAP a plus. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player. Experience with MRP is required. Ability to effectively work with personnel on all levels. Well-developed multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and to adapt to consistently changing priorities. Experience in a Medical Device manufacturing environment a plus. Candidate should have experience across several operational disciplines in a contract manufacturing environment and possesses experience and or a depth of knowledge in the following areas: procurement, planning, production management, master scheduling Experience implementing ERP systems a plus Articulate and professional when dealing with both internal and external customers. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Establishes Continuous Improvement Goals and tracks progress to meet company product cost reduction, material flow, product quality, and secondary supply source objectives. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read technical literature and documents and extract important concepts. Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA’s Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which ZELTIQ complies.
