Who are we?

Product Analytics team owns the data infrastructure for all products powered by PayPal and perform analyses needed to empower data driven decision making by PayPal’s product teams to enable better product offerings for merchants and greater product experience for consumers during their online shopping or peer-to-peer transactions. We do so by building self-serviced dashboards using tools like Tableau, SQL to crunch data from hundreds of millions of transactions. Eventually we deliver key business insights and effectively communicate our analyses to business teams globally.

We work closely with business teams, data scientists, engineers, instrumentation techies and finance to develop an enviable suite of metrics, exploratory analyses, tools and dashboards; all supported by robust data pipelines that scale with our continually expanding business.

About you:

• Analytics professional with a proven track record of extracting and manipulating data using SQL and leveraging advance Tableau and Microsoft Excel features for data analysis in a fast-paced global technology company or a startup

• Hands on professional who can perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from different perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations and documents

• A strong articulate communicator with business acumen who can work efficiently and effectively with key stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies to define and produce business metrics and insights within a given time frame

• A persistent person who has the willingness to spend time in an area and become a SME in that domain

• Someone who pays attention to detail and is intellectually curious to make the extra effort to understand the underlying causes of business trends

• Lifelong learner who has the inclination to continuously learn new skills, is comfortable with ambiguity and can produce high quality, error free business analyses with minimal oversight

Role

• Own production, development and maintenance of weekly business review reports, monthly business review reports, Tableau dashboards, and ongoing analyses to meet SLAs

• Partner with product, engineering, instrumentation and analytics teams to understand product, support experiment setups and analyze performance

• Work and establish good working relationships with other product / product analytics teams to leverage existing infra for the team and continuously engage with these teams for idea cross pollination

• Perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from different perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations and documents

• Continuously think on how to improvement the analytics infrastructure for the team and automate processes

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of analytics experience in a fast-growing global technology company or a highly regarded startup analyzing large, multi-dimensional datasets and synthesizing data insights into actionable recommendations

• Post-graduation or relevant certifications would be a bonus

• Expert level SQL skills to manipulate large datasets through standard access tools like Teradata

• Expert level Tableau skills to create impactful dashboards

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint

• Have knowledge of R or Python (Added advantage)
