This exciting role offers opportunity to: Job Summary EIIC Engineering functional excellence organization is aligned to CTO’s strategy to drive “One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence”. Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO’s office, Electrical and Industrial Sector businesses. This organization will be responsible for developing and deploying One Eaton processes across all sectors and businesses across globe. Leader for Product Lifecycle Management within Engineering functional excellence team at EIIC, will be responsible for establishing and deploying practices and processes for engineering & other related functions that includes all product lifecycle swim lanes viz; new part creation, release, configuration management, standard Eaton-wide product lifecycle management practices for system, subsystem, component and software that are being released as engineering deliverables. Person in this role will also be responsible to drive continuous enhancement of the PLM tools and software instances being used across the organization. Leader in this role will focus on driving intelligent use of the PLM database to impact the product development, design standardization, direct material productivity and SCM strategies. The improvement in product lifecycle management related processes, automation and deployment across the enterprise using lean philosophy will be core need. Leader will also be responsible for management and maintenance of engineering standards and knowledge management systems. Leader in this role will actively work along with leaders for Design excellence, Digital Engineering, Program management excellence and business teams across the organizations. Job Responsibilities Leadership and Management of PLM (Product Life cycle Management) processes across the organization Lead developing / deploying all apt tools to establish end to end degitalized PLM covering entire product life cycle development and engineering deliverables during the same. Process improvement, automation and deployment across the enterprise using lean and continuous improvement philosophy to leverage the PLM database for product developement, improvement or operational assessment. Management and maintenance of engineering stnadards library and configuration management systems for the same. Drive standard PLM process and tool procedures across the organization. Drive improvement in product lifecycle management related processes.. Build organizational capability and capacity of the team to execute strategy for 100% PLM coverage for the engineering deliverabels across the organization. Meet the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all projects under his/her control by managing the shared pool of engineering resources. Provide visible leadership to guide, coach and develop the next level organizational and leaders. Select, hire and retain employees in the department. Develop and maintain relationships with global stakeholders, technical community, academia. Continuous advancement of the capability. Drive digitalization and automation mind-set in product and application development and related engineering processes. Show visible leadership and set example by personal action in developing strong learning culture in the team. Strategy & execution leadership for enhancing collaboration & synergy across various engineering teams. Develop a high performing, innovative, empowered and accountable culture across the organization. Qualifications Requirement: Education level required: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. Strong understanding of organizational processes with 5-7years of in leader role and 10-12 overall. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Product development lifecycle Hands on experience of working with product lifecycle management, related engineering processes, troubleshooting, development and enhancement within the same Solid understanding of Engineering information management processes, tools and possible options to do so Prefer experiences as product engineering with PLM handling, support engineering with PLM development/troubleshooting etc. Soft skills: Process Management-Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done, knows how to organize people and activities, knows what to measure and how to measure it, Can simplify complex processes, Gets more out of fewer resources Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, Is excellent at honest analysis Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers Decision quality – makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment Drive for results – can be counted on to exceed goals successfully Interpersonal savvy – relates well to all kinds of people; builds appropriate rapport.
